                        The Artistry and
                        Sustainability of
                        Portuguese Cork.

I love Portuguese Cork

I design and handmake cork handbags from coloured metres of fabric I buy from a merchant in Portugal.

Portuguese cork fabric is a remarkable material celebrated for its durability, eco-friendliness, and natural resistance to water. Unlike conventional textiles, cork fabric is harvested from the bark of the cork oak tree, a process that is gentle and sustainable. The tree must first mature for over 25 years before its bark is ready for collection. Once harvested, the tree is left undisturbed, allowing her to regrow the protective bark for another 9 to 12 years before the next harvest. This cycle can continue for more than 200 years, making cork one of nature's most renewable resources.

Why Choose Cork Handbags?

* Distinctive Style: Each handbag showcases the unique grain and texture  of natural cork, ensuring that no two pieces are exactly alike.

* Eco-Friendly Origins: The sustainable harvest of cork supports ancient   forests and diverse ecosystems, helping to combat climate change.

* Long-Lasting Use: Cork fabric is exceptionally tough and
water resistant, making these bags as practical as they are beautiful.
